Washington, D.C. — Tonight, House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs Ranking Member Steve Buyer, issued the following statement in response to today’s events at Ft. Hood, Texas:
“As I stood on the floor of the House of Representatives as a Congressman and soldier, my heart was heavy as we observed a moment of silence to honor the twelve soldiers that were killed and the 32 others who were wounded today at Ft. Hood. These warriors do not deserve to have their sense of safety and security so tragically ripped from them. Tonight, all of America should pause to honor these brave soldiers and those wounded in this horrific attack at Ft. Hood.”
